Who Am I?

I am a Jada Flowers. A native of Detroit, Michigan, my passion for creating runs deep through my childhood years. I followed a Graphic Arts track in high school which led me to pursue my degree in Advertising.

At Michigan State University, I joined many student organizations and college preparations cohort programs to navigate college as an undergraduate student. I studied those programs as well as conducted research on the student body to identify a need for a summer pipeline program at the College of Communication Arts and Sciences.

I am vocal about social justice, equity and diversity initiatives and work to provide representation, advocacy, and safe spaces for marginalized groups.

I am an AAGA Scholar, pursuing a Master's Degree in Advertising for the 2020-21 school year. I work as a Graduate Research Assistant to the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the College.

Moreover, I love to research, plan, and execute. I am interested in working for a company or brand developing DEI programs, producing content, and strengthening multicultural advertising.

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

The Ignite MSU Detroit High School AD + PR program enriches the educational experiences of students in the city of Detroit. Our work brings high school students in Detroit together with professionals, Michigan State University faculty members, and Michigan State AD + PR students to produce a newspaper and news website about the issues affecting students’ schools and their peers.
